I love mine

I was lucky enough to catch this in stock and be able to purchase it about 2 years ago. It is not lightweight. I do carry mine in my backpack.
I keep it in a cheapy nylon bag and it fits right down the side of my backpack. The furthest that I have carried it, is about 15 miles on a hiking/camping trip.
I secure a grill to the cook ring with a piece of wire. Not sure if it is as stable as the bedroll cooker grill. But, it works for me.

Gotta bump a product

Let me be clear, I don't own one of these. I DO have quite a few of SAM'S Pathfinder proprietary items and have been more than satisfied with them all. This review is to slightly offset the one prior to this and raise the star rating given the previous reviewer's inattention to detail. He gave this product only 3 stars because he didn't like how heavy it was and because it's inconvenient for lightweight backpacking. Claims no note that says not for ultralight backpacking and wishes it was made in titanium. Um, it clearly states it's hand-forged which usually means iron or steel...nobody's really "hand-forging" aluminum or titanium. That should have been clue one. Then it clearly states the product's length and weight at almost 3 pounds. Clue number two. But, because SRO and Pathfinder didn't spell out "NOT AN ULTRALIGHT PRODUCT" it got a 3 star review....unfair!!!

Hefty Cooker as I expected...

Hefty Cooker as I expected and that is fine because I read the description that says its almost three pounds. I wanted and expected it to be that way for a number of reasons. It's hand forged. It has to be strong in order to hold up food and liquid at temperature with a only a single point of contact in the ground. I think it makes a fine additions to my cast iron cook sets. If I start cooking for more people I will buy another. Fantastic product.

Hefty Cooker

Was looking for a backpack type swing arm cooker and I saw this one but when I received it I immediately notice that this cooker is for when you are car camping. This is not light weight or small enough to carry if you are day hiking much less through hiking. This is a base camp cooker for cast iron pots. The swing arm cooker is well designed and constructed. I gave it the item 3 stars because there is no note in the description box that states this is not made to be carried in your backpack. I do recommend this swing arm cooker if you are in a vehicle or horse back and are carrying cast iron or all Stainless Steel cook ware. I do not recommend for Titanium or Aluminum cook ware as this would be an over kill. I have returned the Swing Arm Cooker for a refund. Suggest SRO make a swing arm the same size of steel as the Bedroll or even of Titanium which is many times lighter and can be carried in your backpack. I understand that Titanium would be more expensive but man it would be light!
